HP Sauce, often referred to as 'Brown Sauce,' is an iconic British condiment that dates back to the late 19th century. It was originally invented by Frederick Gibson Garton, a grocer from Nottingham, who named it 'HP' after the Houses of Parliament in London upon hearing that the restaurant there had begun serving it.

Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational company Kraft Heinz. While the brand is quintessentially British, its manufacturing was controversially moved from Birmingham, England, to Elst in the Netherlands in 2007. Despite the shift in production, it remains a staple of British culture and cuisine, globally recognized by its blue label featuring the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben).
