Sensodyne Pronamel is a leading oral care brand specifically formulated to protect tooth enamel from acid erosion while relieving tooth sensitivity. The Sensodyne brand was first introduced in 1961 by the Block Drug Company in the United States, based on a strontium chloride formulation. In 2000, the brand was acquired by the British pharmaceutical company SmithKline Beecham (now GSK), which significantly expanded its global footprint and product line, including the launch of the Pronamel sub-brand in 2006.

Historically, Sensodyne products for the European market were heavily manufactured in Maidenhead, England. However, as part of a strategic supply chain restructuring, manufacturing has transitioned to Slovakia (specifically to the Levice plant) and higher-capacity hubs worldwide.

In July 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into an independent entity named Haleon plc. As of 2026, Haleon remains the world-leading consumer health company and the ultimate owner of the brand, managing it from its global headquarters in Weybridge, United Kingdom.
