Coronita is the smaller bottle variant of the world-famous Corona Extra. Rooted in Mexican brewing heritage, it was first brewed by Cervecería Modelo in 1925 in Mexico City. The brand rose to international prominence for its light, crisp profile often served with a wedge of lime.
Today, the brand's ownership reflects a complex global landscape. Within Mexico and for various international export markets, the brand is owned and produced by Grupo Modelo, which is a subsidiary of the Belgian multinatinal Anheuser-Busch InBev. However, due to antitrust regulations in the United States, the rights to sell and market the brand in the U.S. are held by Constellation Brands. Despite this split in distribution rights, the beer continues to be primarily brewed in Mexico to maintain its authentic origin and quality standards.
