Founded in Berlin in 1847 by Werner von Siemens, Siemens AG has evolved into one of the world's largest industrial manufacturing companies. Originally focused on telegraphy and electrical engineering, the brand is now synonymous with global innovation in energy, healthcare, and infrastructure.
While Siemens remains a German powerhouse, its consumer home appliances are managed through BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, a joint venture that became a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch in 2015. Consequently, while industrial Siemens goods are produced by Siemens AG, home appliances are manufactured by Bosch under the Siemens brand name. Manufacturing occurs globally, with major facilities in Germany, Poland, Turkey, China, and the United States.
Today, Siemens AG remains a publicly traded company headquartered in Munich and Berlin, focusing on digital industries and smart infrastructure, while the Siemens brand name persists in the consumer market through licensing agreements with Bosch.
