Lek Bivacyn skin spray

Bivacyn is a well-known pharmaceutical brand specializing in antibiotic treatments for skin infections and wound care. Originally developed as a topical antibiotic combination (Neomycin and Bacitracin), it became a staple product in the Balkan region and Central Europe for minor injuries, burns, and dermatological conditions.

The brand was developed by Lek Pharmaceuticals, one of the most prominent pharmaceutical companies in Slovenia. Since the early 2000s, Lek has been part of a larger global network, which has shifted the ultimate ownership of the brand through various corporate mergers and acquisitions within the generic drug industry.

Today, Bivacyn continues to be manufactured primarily in Slovenia under the management of Sandoz. Sandoz was formerly the generics division of the Swiss giant Novartis but completed its spin-off into an independent, publicly traded company in late 2023. This move reinforces Sandoz's position as a global leader in generic medicines, maintaining operations in Ljubljana and other European sites.
