Originally founded in Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2001 by Tim Westwell and Sebastian Pole, Pukka Herbs quickly became a global leader in the organic herbal tea market. Although it began as a specialized independent label, it was acquired by the multinational giant Unilever in 2017. As of 2021, Unilever transitioned its tea division into an independent entity called Ekaterra, which was subsequently sold to CVC Capital Partners. Today, Pukka remains under the ownership of Ekaterra (now known as LIPTON Teas and Infusions).
