Stella Artois is a globally recognized Belgian pilsner that traces its brewing heritage back to 1366 in Leuven, Belgium, at the Den Hoorn brewery. The brand as it is known today was officially launched in 1926 as a Christmas beer, named 'Stella' (Latin for star) in honor of the occasion.

Historically, the beer was brewed exclusively in Leuven, Belgium. However, as it became a flagship global brand, production was expanded to various regional hubs to ensure freshness and logistical efficiency. While high-quality export versions still originate from Belgium, the beer is also brewed in the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, and more recently, the United States.

Today, Stella Artois is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world's largest brewing conglomerate.
