Benelli Motorcycle

Benelli is one of Italy's oldest motorcycle manufacturers, founded in 1911 in Pesaro. Originally established as a repair workshop that also produced spare parts, it evolved into a world-renowned brand legendary for its racing heritage and innovative designs. Throughout the 20th century, Benelli became a symbol of Italian engineering excellence.

In 2005, the brand underwent a significant transition when it was acquired by the Qianjiang Motor Group, a leading Chinese manufacturer. This acquisition allowed Benelli to expand its global reach by combining Italian design and heritage with large-scale manufacturing capabilities. Today, while high-end development and some premium assembly still occur at the Benelli Q.J. headquarters in Pesaro, Italy, the vast majority of consumer models are manufactured in China by the parent company.

As of 2024 and beyond, Benelli remains under the ultimate ownership of the Geely Holding Group, which acquired a majority stake in Qianjiang. This places Benelli within a diverse international portfolio alongside other automotive giants like Volvo and Lotus, ensuring financial stability and advanced technological integration for the brand's future.
