Winston is a globally recognized cigarette brand that originated in the United States in 1954, named after the town of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It was the first filtered cigarette to achieve major commercial success in the US market.
While the brand was originally created by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, its international rights were sold to Japan Tobacco Inc. (JTI) in 1999. Today, Winston products sold outside the United States are manufactured and marketed by JTI, which operates production facilities in numerous countries worldwide, including locations in Europe and Asia. The 'Extra Volume' variant displayed is a fine-cut tobacco typically used for rolling or tubing.
