Ducados is one of the most iconic Spanish tobacco brands, originally known for its distinctive dark tobacco (tabaco negro). The 'Rubio' line represents the brand's expansion into the blonde tobacco market to cater to modern consumer preferences.

Historically, Ducados was produced by Tabacalera, the former Spanish state tobacco monopoly. Following a series of international mergers, the brand became part of the Altadis group (formed by the merger of Tabacalera and the French company SEITA). In 2008, Altadis was acquired by Imperial Brands, a British multinational tobacco company based in Bristol. Today, Imperial Brands manages Ducados as a key regional brand. While the brand has deep Spanish roots, manufacturing is conducted across various facilities within the Imperial Brands global network.
