Oral-B is one of the most recognizable names in dental hygiene worldwide. The brand's history began in 1950 when Dr. Robert W. Hutson, a California periodontist, designed and patented a new style of toothbrush. He founded the Oral-B company, which eventually expanded its product range from manual brushes to electric toothbrushes, dental floss, and professional-grade toothpastes like the Pro-Expert series shown here.

Over the decades, the brand underwent significant corporate changes. It was acquired by Gillette in 1984, which in turn was acquired by the American consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 2005. Today, Oral-B operates as a flagship dental care brand under P&G’s extensive portfolio.

Manufacturing for Oral-B products is global to meet high demand, with significant production facilities located in Germany (especially for electric components and certain paste formulations) and other strategic locations across Europe, North America, and Asia. Despite its American roots, the brand holds a dominant market share in the European oral care sector.
