Prince Polo Classic

Prince Polo is a legendary Polish chocolate wafer brand that first appeared in 1955. It was created by the Olza S.A. company in the town of Cieszyn, Poland. The bar is famously known for its iconic golden metallic wrapper and its simple yet classic design consisting of four layers of crispy wafer joined by three layers of chocolate-flavored filling, all coated in dark or milk chocolate.

Beyond its home market, Prince Polo holds a unique place in cultural history as the most popular chocolate bar in Iceland. Due to historical trade agreements and strict import restrictions in the mid-20th century, it was one of the few foreign confectionery items available in Iceland for decades, leading it to become a staple of Icelandic snacks and a national symbol. It is also marketed under various names like 'Siesta' in other European countries.

The brand has undergone ownership changes since the fall of the Iron Curtain. In 1993, the original manufacturer Olza S.A. was acquired by Kraft Jacobs Suchard. Through various corporate restructurings and spin-offs, the brand eventually became part of Mondelez International, which remains the ultimate owner today. Production continues to be centered in Poland, maintaining its heritage in the region where it was founded.
