Winston is a historic brand of cigarettes that originated in the United States in 1954, named after Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Originally developed by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, it became one of the most recognizable tobacco brands in the world.

Today, the ownership of Winston is split globally. In the United States, the brand is owned and manufactured by ITG Brands, a subsidiary of Imperial Brands. Outside of the United States, the brand was acquired by Japan Tobacco (JT) in 1999 and is currently managed by its international division, Japan Tobacco International (JTI).

Manufacturing takes place in various JTI facilities worldwide to serve international markets, including sites in Europe and Asia. The packaging shown features health warnings in multiple languages (German, French, Italian), indicating it is intended for the European market, likely Switzerland given the specific trilingual warning combination.
