Tempur pillow

Tempur products trace their origins back to the late 1960s when NASA scientists developed a pressure-absorbing material to help cushion astronauts during lift-off. This material later became known as memory foam. The Swedish company Fagerdala World Foams began refining this NASA invention for commercial use in the 1980s, eventually launching the Tempur-Pedic brand.

Today, the brand is a global leader in premium bedding products. While the technology was perfected in Sweden and Denmark, the brand is now under the ownership of Tempur Sealy International, Inc., an American corporation formed following the merger of Tempur-Pedic and Sealy in 2013. Manufacturing for the European market is primarily centered in Denmark, while North American products are produced in various facilities across the United States.
