Kaiyi Auto, formerly known as Cowin Auto, is a prominent Chinese automotive brand that specializes in cost-effective, high-tech SUVs and sedans. The brand was established to target a younger demographic by offering vehicles with modern designs and smart connectivity features. Originally founded as a subsidiary of the state-owned Chery Automobile, the brand underwent a significant transformation in 2018 when ownership shifted to include investment from the Yibin local government.

Today, Kaiyi is headquartered in the Sanjiang New Area of Yibin, Sichuan Province, where it operates large-scale manufacturing facilities. While the brand remains deeply rooted in Chinese manufacturing, it has successfully expanded its global footprint through localized assembly and distribution partnerships. This includes significant operations in Russia through the Avtotor plant, as well as presences in markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The brand is a key player in the transition to sustainable transport, increasingly focusing on New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).
