Kenco coffee

Kenco is a storied British coffee brand with a heritage dating back to 1923, when it was established as the Kenya Coffee Company. Originally founded by a cooperative of retired coffee growers in London, the brand initially focused on distributing Kenyan coffee through mail order and dedicated coffee shops. In 1962, the company rebranded to Kenco to reflect its expanded sourcing from coffee-growing regions around the world.

Over the decades, Kenco's ownership has transitioned through several major food and beverage conglomerates, including Cadbury Schweppes, Kraft Foods, and Mondelēz International. Since 2015, following the merger of the Mondelēz coffee business with D.E Master Blenders 1753, the brand has been under the stewardship of JDE Peet's. In late 2024, JAB Holding Company significantly increased its majority stake in Kenco's parent company, JDE Peet's, by acquiring the remaining shares held by Mondelēz.

Manufacturing for Kenco takes place across various locations to support its global supply chain. A primary production hub is located in Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK, which has been the heart of Kenco's roasting operations for many years. Additionally, as part of the JDE Peet's network, the brand utilizes manufacturing facilities across Europe and sources its beans from major coffee-producing nations such as Brazil, Colombia, and Vietnam.
