Oral-B is a globally recognized leader in oral hygiene, particularly known for its pioneering electric toothbrushes. The brand originated in the United States, founded by Dr. Robert W. Hutson in the late 1940s, who designed the first multi-tufted nylon filament toothbrush.
Today, Oral-B is owned by the American multinational consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble (P&G). Most high-end Oral-B electric toothbrushes, including the iO series, are manufactured in Marktheidenfeld, Germany, continuing a long tradition of German engineering associated with the Braun brand, which P&G also owns and integrates into Oral-B's designs. While the core technology is engineered in Europe, the company operates a global supply chain to distribute its dental care products worldwide.
