CUPRA automotive brand

CUPRA was originally established as the high-performance motorsports division of the Spanish automaker SEAT. Officially launched as a standalone brand in 2018, it focuses on high-performance vehicles, lifestyle products, and electric mobility.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Martorell, Spain, its manufacturing network is global due to its integration with the SEAT and Volkswagen Group clusters. Most models, like the Formentor and Leon, are manufactured in Martorell, but others such as the Born are produced in Zwickau, Germany, and the Tavascan in Anhui, China. Ownership is held by the Volkswagen Group, which has positioned CUPRA as a premium, design-oriented brand within its extensive portfolio.
