Samsung televisions are part of a globally distributed manufacturing network managed by Samsung Electronics. While the brand's heart remains in South Korea, actual mass production of TV sets within the country ceased around 2018, as the domestic facilities were repurposed for pilot testing and high-tech research. Today, Samsung TVs are primarily manufactured in large hubs such as Vietnam, Mexico, and Egypt, which serve their respective continental markets.
Mexico’s Tijuana plant is a critical site for the North American market, while Vietnam has emerged as one of the largest production hubs for Asia and beyond. Additionally, Samsung operates manufacturing facilities in Brazil, India, Hungary, and Slovakia. This diverse manufacturing footprint allows the company to minimize logistics costs and adapt to regional market demands while maintaining strict quality control under the global Samsung brand standards.
Ownership of the brand rests with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., which is the flagship subsidiary of the Samsung Group (chaebol). Founded in 1969 as Samsung Electric Industries, the company initially focused on black-and-white televisions before evolving into a world leader in semiconductors and consumer electronics. It remains a publicly traded company headquartered in Suwon, South Korea, with a complex ownership structure involving the founding Lee family and various institutional investors.
