Cerveza Victoria Málaga beer

Cerveza Victoria is a quintessential Spanish lager deeply rooted in the culture of Málaga. Founded on September 8, 1928—the feast day of the Virgin of Victoria, the city's patron saint—by Luis Franquelo Carrasco, it has become a symbolic brand for the region. The brand is famously recognized for its 'German Tourist' advertising character, created in the 1930s, which reflected the growing international tourism on the Costa del Sol.

After several decades of ownership changes, including a period under Cruzcampo and Heineken, the brand was acquired in 2001 by the Barcelona-based Damm Group. Under Damm's stewardship, a state-of-the-art brewery was inaugurated in Málaga in 2017, returning much of the production to its home city. While 1/3 bottles and kegs are produced at the Málaga facility, other formats like cans and liter bottles are typically produced at Damm's large-scale plant in Murcia. Today, it stands as one of Spain's most iconic regional beers and remains a prominent sponsor of the Spanish National Football Team.
