On Cloud Running Shoes

On (often called On Running or On Cloud) is a high-performance athletic brand founded in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2010 by Olivier Bernhard, David Allemann, and Caspar Coppetti. The brand is famous for its patented CloudTec cushioning technology, which uses hollow 'Cloud' pods on the sole to provide soft landings and explosive take-offs.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Swiss engineering and maintains its Research and Development (R&D) lab in Zurich, the physical manufacturing of its shoes is outsourced. Modern production takes place primarily in Vietnam, which is the company's primary tier-1 manufacturing partner, with additional production facilities located in China and other global locations.

On is owned by its parent company, On Holding AG, which went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021. The brand gained significant global popularity following a high-profile partnership and investment from Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer in 2019. It has since expanded from performance running into lifestyle footwear and apparel, becoming one of the fastest-growing sports brands in the world.
