Manufacturing of these lighters is highly centralized to maintain strict safety standards, with major production facilities located in France, Spain, the United States, and Brazil. The flagship factory in Redon, France, remains a primary hub, producing millions of units daily. Each lighter undergoes more than 50 automated quality and safety checks before leaving the factory to ensure a consistent and safe flame.

The brand is owned by Société BIC S.A., a French corporation founded in 1945 by Marcel Bich and Édouard Buffard. Today, the company remains under the strategic guidance and majority control of the founding Bich family, maintaining its headquarters in Clichy, France.
