Bertolli Vloeibaar (Liquid) is a popular cooking product used for baking, roasting, and frying, designed to combine the health benefits of oils with the convenience of a pourable butter alternative. The brand's history is deeply rooted in Lucca, Tuscany, where Francesco Bertolli and his wife Caterina opened a small grocery shop in 1865, eventually becoming pioneers in exporting Italian olive oil to the world.

While the Bertolli brand name is unified, its ownership history is complex and currently split across different global entities. The olive oil business is owned by the Spanish group Deoleo, while the margarine, spreads, and liquid cooking fats business—which this specific product belongs to—was sold by Unilever to KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts). KKR subsequently formed Upfield to manage these iconic food brands.

Today, the production of Bertolli spreads and liquid fats occurs in various regional facilities across Europe to serve local markets, maintaining the brand's Italian-inspired heritage under the corporate umbrella of Upfield, headquartered in the Netherlands.
