After Eight is a renowned brand of mint chocolate thins, originally created in 1962 by Rowntree & Company Limited at their York factory in the United Kingdom. The product was designed as an after-dinner chocolate, combining a smooth peppermint-flavored fondant cream with a dark chocolate coating, presented in its iconic individual paper sleeves.
Following the acquisition of Rowntree's in 1988, the brand became part of the Nestlé portfolio. Today, it remains one of the world's leading premium mint chocolate brands. While it was historically manufactured exclusively in West Yorkshire, production has expanded to include international facilities, most notably in Hamburg, Germany, to serve the European market. The brand continues to be managed by Nestlé, maintaining its status as a staple of post-dinner confectionery globally.
