The brand's ownership has changed hands several times over the decades, notably being acquired by Cadbury Schweppes in 1986. Following the spin-off of Cadbury's beverage division in 2008, Canada Dry became part of the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, which later merged with Keurig Green Mountain in 2018 to form Keurig Dr Pepper.
