Kraft is one of the most recognizable names in the global food industry, with a history dating back to James L. Kraft’s cheese business founded in Chicago in 1903. Over more than a century, the brand has grown from a local cheese delivery service into a global culinary powerhouse known for revolutionary products like processed cheese slices and boxed macaroni and cheese.
Today, the Kraft brand is managed under a complex ownership structure following several major corporate splits and mergers. In North America, the brand is owned and operated by the Kraft Heinz Company, which was formed through the high-profile merger of Kraft Foods Group and H.J. Heinz Company. Internationally, however, many of the brand's snack and grocery portfolios were spun off into what is now Mondelēz International.
Manufacturing for Kraft products occurs in dozens of facilities worldwide to serve regional markets. While a significant portion of the production remains centered in the United States and Canada, the brand maintains a localized supply chain across Europe, Australia, and Asia to ensure product freshness and meet varying international food standards. The brand continues to stand as a symbol of convenient, shelf-stable family dining solutions.
