Titleist golf balls and equipment

Titleist is one of the most recognizable names in the world of professional golf, originally founded in 1932 by Philip E. Young. The brand famously began with the creation of a high-quality, X-ray tested golf ball after Young missed a putt and became convinced the ball itself was off-center. Today, Titleist remains a leader in performance equipment for both professional and amateur golfers.

While Titleist is an American icon, its manufacturing footprint is global to meet high demand. The premium Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls are primarily manufactured in Ball Plant 3 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA, while other ball models and equipment are frequently produced in their specialized facilities in Thailand and other global locations.

Since 2011, Titleist has been owned by Acushnet Holdings Corp., which in turn is largely controlled by a consortium led by Fila Holdings (formerly Fila Korea). This ownership structure has allowed Titleist to maintain its heritage as a premium sporting brand while leveraging international capital and distribution networks.
