The brand's history is deeply rooted in the San Pellegrino Terme area of Bergamo, Italy, where the production company was originally established in 1899 to bottle mineral water.

While the brand maintains its distinct Italian identity and heritage, the original company, Sanpellegrino S.p.A., was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé in 1997. Today, it operates as a key part of Nestlé's international water and beverage portfolio.
