Founded in 1983 by Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings on London's Portobello Road, the brand initially specialized in high-quality secondhand traditional British men's clothing before transitioning into designing and manufacturing its own pieces.

While the brand maintains its 'British' identity in design and marketing, its manufacturing is distributed internationally across various regions including Europe and Asia to maintain large-scale production requirements.
