Friesengeist herbal liqueur

Friesengeist is a traditional high-proof herbal liqueur originating from East Friesland, Germany. It was originally created by Johann Eschen in the town of Wittmund during the mid-20th century. The spirit is famously known for its high alcohol content (56% ABV) and the ritual of serving it flamed in special glasses.

Today, the brand is owned and produced by Waldemar Behn GmbH, a family-owned spirits company based in Eckernförde. While the brand carries the cultural heritage of the Friesland region, its manufacturing and distribution are managed by Behn, one of Germany's leading independent family companies in the spirits industry.
