Moschino is an iconic Italian luxury fashion house globally recognized for its playful, eccentric, and often satirical designs that challenge conventional high-fashion norms. Founded in Milan in 1983 by Franco Moschino, the brand revolutionized the industry by incorporating pop culture elements, surrealism, and bold social commentary into high-end tailoring. Following the founder's death in 1994, the brand maintained its relevance through the creative direction of Rossella Jardini and later Jeremy Scott, who further cemented the brand's status as a leader in avant-garde luxury and streetwear.
While the brand's creative heart remains in Milan, its manufacturing is primarily concentrated in Italy to ensure the highest standards of luxury production and craftsmanship. However, certain product lines, particularly accessories and licensed goods such as fragrances and footwear, may be produced in other specialized locations across Europe and globally. The brand's diverse portfolio includes Moschino (the main line), Love Moschino, and Moschino Jeans.
Today, Moschino is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aeffe S.p.A., an Italian luxury goods group. Aeffe has been the strategic partner of the brand since its inception and officially acquired a majority stake in 1999, eventually taking full 100% control in 2021. This ownership ensures that the brand remains deeply rooted in Italian heritage while benefiting from the global distribution and manufacturing infrastructure of the Aeffe Group, which also manages brands like Alberta Ferretti and Pollini.
