Factor Bikes is a high-performance bicycle brand that originated from a specialized engineering firm focused on motorsport and aerospace technology. The brand was initially founded as a spin-off of bf1systems, a British engineering firm based in Norfolk, England, which is renowned for its work with Formula 1 and high-end automotive brands like Aston Martin and Ferrari. In 2013, the brand was acquired by a group of private investors led by former professional cyclist Baden Cooke and Rob Gitelis, a manufacturing expert who previously owned a carbon fiber production facility in Taiwan and China.

Today, Factor Bikes operates as a vertically integrated manufacturer, meaning they own and operate their own carbon fiber factory called 'MST Specialty' located in Taichung, Taiwan, and also maintain assembly facilities in China. This structure allows the company to control every stage of the design, testing, and production process, differentiating them from many competitors who outsource manufacturing to third-party providers. Factor is recognized globally for its focus on aerodynamics and engineering precision, frequently supplying bicycles to professional UCI WorldTour teams.
