Pastas Gallo is the leading brand in the Spanish pasta market, founded in 1946 by José Espona in Rubí, Barcelona. The company revolutionized the industry in Spain by introducing durum wheat semolina pasta, which offered a superior quality and texture compared to the soft wheat varieties common at the time.

Today, the brand operates primarily out of its main production facility in Granollers, Barcelona, and its mill in Córdoba. While it started as a family business, it underwent a significant change in ownership in 2019 to fuel international growth and modernization.

The brand is now owned by the private equity firm ProA Capital. Under this ownership, Pastas Gallo continues to expand its catalog into gluten-free products, refrigerated sauces, and Asian-inspired noodles, maintaining its position as a household staple in Spain and an export to numerous international markets.
