Birra Ichnusa is an iconic beer brand deeply rooted in Sardinian heritage. Founded in 1912 by Amsicora Capra, it has become a symbol of the island's local identity and craftsmanship. The Non Filtrata (Unfiltered) variant shown in the image is known for its cloudy appearance and intense flavor, produced using pure barley malt. Despite its strong local identity, the brand was acquired in 1986 by the global brewing giant Heineken.
The production primarily takes place at the Assemini brewery near Cagliari, Sardinia, which is one of the most technologically advanced and sustainable brewing facilities in Italy. While it is part of a multinational portfolio, the brand maintains its traditional Sardinian branding and continues to be a point of pride for the region, managed through the Italian subsidiary of the Dutch-headquartered parent company.
