Texels Skuumkoppe beer

Texels is a renowned craft brewery located on the Dutch Wadden Sea island of Texel. Known for its 'speciaalbier' (specialty beer), the brand's flagship product is Skuumkoppe, a top-fermented dark wheat beer that takes its name from the white foam heads seen on the waves of the North Sea. The brewery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients, including barley and wheat grown on the island, and pure dune water.

Originally established as de Texelse Bierbrouwerij in 1999, the brand quickly gained popularity across the Netherlands for its distinct regional character and traditional brewing methods. In 2020, the brewery was acquired by Heineken N.V., one of the world's largest brewing companies. This acquisition has allowed the brand to expand its distribution while maintaining its identity as a premium island-born craft beer. Despite the global ownership, production remains centered at the original brewery location in Oudeschild on Texel island to preserve its authentic flavor profile.
