Tajín is a globally recognized Mexican seasoning brand, most famous for its 'Clásico' blend of chili peppers, lime, and sea salt. This specific version is the 'Reducido en Sodio' (Low Sodium) variety, packaged in its signature shaker bottle.
The brand was founded in 1985 by Horacio Fernández Castillo in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. It was originally based on a family recipe for a dehydrated sauce. Since its inception, Tajín has expanded significantly beyond Mexico, becoming a staple in international markets, particularly in the United States, for its versatility in seasoning fruits, vegetables, and snacks.
Tajín remains a privately held family business under the corporate name Industrias Tajín, S.A. de C.V. While the primary global production occurs at their state-of-the-art facility in Jalisco, Mexico, the company operates a robust distribution network through its subsidiary Tajín International Corporation to meet worldwide demand.
