Ivanhoe is a historic Canadian cheese brand, deeply rooted in the traditions of Ontario's dairy industry. It began as a cooperative of local dairy farmers in the village of Ivanhoe, Ontario, in 1874, focusing on the production of high-quality cheddar and specialty cheeses.
Over the decades, Ivanhoe became famous for its naturally aged cheddars and artisanal flavored cheeses. In 2008, the brand was acquired by Gay Lea Foods Co-operative Ltd., one of Canada's largest dairy cooperatives. Today, Gay Lea continues to manufacture Ivanhoe products primarily at its production facility in Madoc, Ontario, maintaining the brand's heritage as a 100% Canadian, farmer-owned enterprise.
