Wikana is a traditional German biscuit brand with deep roots in Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt. Founded in 1906, the brand has navigated various historical eras, including being a nationally owned enterprise (VEB) during the GDR period before returning to private ownership. Today, it is recognized for balancing traditional recipes with organic and fair-trade ingredient sourcing.

All Wikana products, including the Edel Mürbchen (fine shortbread biscuits), are manufactured at their historical site in Wittenberg. Since 2000, the brand has been under the ownership of the Knitzschke family. Wikana Nahrungsmittel GmbH remains an independent, family-owned medium-sized company, distinguishing it from many larger multinational snack conglomerates.
