TABASCO Habanero Sauce is a high-heat condiment produced by the McIlhenny Company. This specific variant is known for mixing habanero peppers with tropical fruits like mango, papaya, and banana to create a Jamaican-style spicy sauce.
The brand has a rich history originating on Avery Island, Louisiana, where Edmund McIlhenny first created the original red sauce in 1868. To this day, the brand remains family-owned and operated, maintaining its headquarters and primary production facilities on the very same island where it began. Unlike many global brands that have been acquired by conglomerates, Tabasco remains an independent, private legacy brand.
While the peppers for some varieties are grown in various countries across Central and South America to ensure year-round supply and harvest stability, all Tabasco pepper mash is aged in white oak barrels and processed on Avery Island, USA, before being bottled and distributed to over 195 countries worldwide.
