Cervezas Alhambra is a historic Spanish beer brand that originated in Granada, Andalusia. Founded in 1925 by Carlos Bouvard and Antonio Knorr, the brewery was established in the shadow of the iconic Alhambra palace, from which it takes its name and artistic inspiration. The brand remains deeply connected to its Granadan heritage, continuing to operate its primary production facility in the city and utilizing water from the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains in its brewing process.
Since 2007, Cervezas Alhambra has been fully integrated into the Mahou San Miguel group, the largest Spanish-owned brewing company. Despite this corporate acquisition, the brand has maintained a distinct identity, particularly with its flagship 'Reserva 1925'—famed for its signature embossed green bottle without a paper label. As of 2026, the brand continues to be a premium pillar of the Mahou San Miguel portfolio, representing traditional Andalusian brewing craftsmanship on both a national and international scale.
