Ritter Sport chocolate bars

Ritter Sport is an iconic German brand of chocolate known for its distinctive square shape. The brand was founded in 1912 by Alfred Ritter and Clara Ritter in Stuttgart, Germany. The famous square-edged chocolate bar was created in 1932 to fit easily into a sports jacket pocket without breaking, hence the name "Ritter Sport."

To this day, the brand remains a family-owned business, operated by Alfred T. Ritter GmbH & Co. KG. Most of the production takes place at their primary facility in Waldenbuch, Germany. The company is recognized for its sustainability efforts and its diverse range of flavors differentiated by vibrant packaging colors. It remains one of the few major international chocolate brands not owned by a massive global conglomerate like Nestlé or Mondelēz.
