Lion bar is a popular filled wafer bar created by Eric Nicoli of Rowntree's in the United Kingdom in 1976. The product is known for its rugged 'wild' appearance, consisting of a wafer filled with caramel and crisp cereal, and coated in a layer of milk chocolate.
Following Nestlé's acquisition of Rowntree's in 1988, the brand became part of one of the world's largest food and beverage portfolios. Today, Lion bars are manufactured in several locations across Europe to provide for global distribution, primarily at Nestlé's facility in Wisbech, UK, and in various European factories. The brand remains a staple in the confectionery market, often seen in various limited editions such as white chocolate or peanut versions.
