Tecnica is an Italian brand specializing in sports footwear, particularly ski boots. Founded in 1960 by Giancarlo Zanatta, the company has grown to become a leader in the global market for sports shoes, including outdoor footwear and ski boots. Tecnica's success is attributed to its commitment to innovation, premium materials, and advanced technologies developed by its R&D department. In 1970, Tecnica introduced the first plastic bi-injected ski boot, and later developed the Custom Adaptive Shape (C.A.S.) technology, ensuring superior fit and comfort. Over the years, Tecnica has expanded its product range and brand portfolio, acquiring several notable companies. In 1993, it acquired the German outdoor footwear brand LOWA, and in 2002, it became the leading manufacturer of ski boots worldwide with the acquisition of Nordica. The company also expanded into inline skates with the acquisition of Rollerblade in 2003, and further strengthened its position in the skiing world by acquiring the Austrian brand Blizzard in 2006. Originally owned by the Zanatta family, Tecnica Group opened up its structure in 2017 by selling a 40% stake to Italmobiliare, broadening the company's horizons in terms of internationalization. As of 2025, Andrea Dorigo serves as the CEO of Tecnica Group, bringing extensive international experience to the company.
