CMF by Nothing is a sub-brand of the London-based consumer electronics company Nothing. Launched in 2023, CMF stands for 'Color, Material, Finish,' aiming to make great design more accessible by offering products at a lower price point than the flagship Nothing line. The CMF Phone 1, which debuted in mid-2024, gained significant attention for its unique modular design, featuring a replaceable back panel and a signature accessory mounting point.

While the brand is headquartered and designed in the United Kingdom, manufacturing is primarily outsourced to major production hubs. For the Indian market, which is one of the brand's largest targets, the devices are manufactured locally in India. Other global units are typically produced in China to leverage existing electronics supply chains. The brand maintains a 'Stock Android' approach to software through Nothing OS, differentiating itself from other budget-oriented competitors through a clean user interface and minimalist industrial design.

Ownership of the brand remains entirely with Nothing Technology Limited. The company has attracted significant venture capital from high-profile investors and is led by Carl Pei, who previously co-founded OnePlus. This pedigree has helped CMF quickly establish a foothold in the competitive mid-range smartphone segment across Europe, India, and other international markets.
