Founded by the Huyghe family in West Flanders, the brand was named after their pet parrot, which remains its iconic mascot. While the brand changed hands several times—including ownership by United Biscuits—it eventually returned to Belgian family ownership.

Today, Croky is owned and manufactured by Roger & Roger, a family-owned company based in Mouscron, Belgium. The production facility in Mouscron processes locally sourced potatoes to maintain the quality and heritage of the brand. Croky is a staple in the Benelux region and is exported to numerous countries worldwide, maintaining its position as a major independent competitor in the snack food industry.
