Sky Broadband is a consumer internet service offered by Sky UK, a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation. Established in 2006, Sky Broadband provides high-speed internet services across the United Kingdom. In 2005, Sky UK acquired Easynet, a major internet service provider, for £211 million, enabling Sky to offer broadband services. By 2007, Sky Broadband had reached one million customers, and by 2017, it had grown to 6.1 million customers. In 2013, Sky expanded its broadband services by acquiring the fixed telephone line and broadband business of Telefónica UK, trading under the O2 and BE brands. Sky Broadband offers download speeds of up to 900Mbps via the Openreach network. In 2020, Sky launched Sky WiFi in Italy, providing high-speed internet services to subscribers in major cities. Sky Broadband is part of Sky UK, which is owned by Comcast Corporation, an American telecommunications conglomerate headquartered in the United States.
