TP-Link networking equipment and smart home devices

TP-Link is a Chinese company specializing in networking equipment and smart home products. Established in 1996 by brothers Zhao Jianjun and Zhao Jiaxing, the company is headquartered in Shenzhen, China. The name 'TP-Link' is derived from 'Twisted Pair Link,' referring to a type of cabling that reduces electromagnetic interference. Over the years, TP-Link has expanded its product range to include routers, switches, wireless access points, network attached storage, and smart home devices like smart switches, smart lights, cameras, and robot vacuums. In 2022, TP-Link began separating from its Chinese parent company, TP-LINK Technologies Co., Ltd., and in October 2024, established TP-Link Systems Inc. as its global headquarters in Irvine, California. This restructuring aimed to enhance its presence in the U.S. market and strengthen global competitiveness. Despite the separation, TP-Link continues to manufacture its products in multiple countries, including Vietnam, and supplies its products to consumers worldwide.
