Dacia automobiles

Dacia is a Romanian automobile manufacturer established in 1966, named after the ancient region of Dacia, now part of modern-day Romania. Initially, Dacia produced licensed versions of Renault models, such as the Dacia 1300, based on the Renault 12. In 1999, Renault acquired a 51% stake in Dacia, which later increased to 99.4% by 2003, making Dacia a fully owned subsidiary of Renault. This acquisition enabled Dacia to modernize its production facilities and expand its model range, introducing vehicles like the Duster SUV. Today, Dacia operates manufacturing plants in Romania and Morocco, producing a variety of models for markets across Europe and beyond.
