Agip fuel products

Agip, an acronym for Azienda Generale Italiana Petroli, was established in 1926 by the Italian government to provide a domestic competitor to international oil companies like Shell and Esso. Initially, Agip focused on the Italian market, offering a range of petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, LPG, lubricants, fuel oil, and bitumen. In 1953, Agip was integrated into the state-owned energy conglomerate Eni S.p.A., which led to significant expansion and modernization under the leadership of Enrico Mattei. The company adopted the iconic six-legged dog logo in 1952, symbolizing innovation and energy. Over the decades, Agip expanded its operations internationally, establishing a presence in various countries. In 2013, Agip was merged into Eni, leading to the creation of the Refining and Marketing Division (R&M). Today, the Agip brand continues to be used for Eni's fuel stations and products, maintaining its legacy in the global energy sector.
