In 1985, William Page, son of the founder James Page, launched Wagg as a complete dry dog food, marking the company's entry into the pet food market. The name 'Wagg' was chosen through a company competition, and the brand quickly gained popularity for its quality products. In 1990, the company changed its name from Page Feeds to Wagg Foods and moved to a purpose-built site at Topcliffe, near Thirsk. Over the years, Wagg Foods expanded its product range to include treats and rewards for dogs, becoming the UK's third-largest pet food brand by value. In 2020, the company was acquired by international investment firm CapVest, leading to the formation of Inspired Pet Nutrition (IPN). Under IPN, Wagg continues to produce a variety of pet foods, including dry dog food, treats, and food for small animals. The brand emphasizes affordability without compromising on quality, making it a popular choice among dog owners in the UK.
